Forums use for beginners

Just thought I'd make a thread explaining how the forums work. I know it's straight-forward and obvious for most but definitely handy for those who aren't used to using the forums.

* There are 3 main levels in forums: On the front page of forums you will see a list of all the areas which are known as "Sections" within these sections are all the topics which are known as "Threads" and within each thread/topic are each person's comments

* Bookmark the forums: It'll make it easier to find, easier to use and just having the bookmark on your toolbar can be enough to remind you. The way I do it is use the toolbar bookmarks for the sites I check EVERYDAY and check em all at once when I power up my machine and I use the toolbars menu for all the rest of my bookmarks which I don't HAVE to check daily. Another way to make it easier to use is to have Windows/your browser save your login and log you in automatically on each visit. This saves time and makes it easier.

* We don't know if you are reading our posts and taking them in if you don't reply (hence why I did this whole forum usage test) so it's a good idea to post replies from time to time just to say you agree/disagree, understand, etc...

* When you are on the main forums page which shows all the sections you will see on the left a little on or off symbol next to each section. If it says On, it means there are new posts in threads which you haven't viewed yet. Note: this will only work when you are logged in.

* Same as above, when you click on a section with the "on" signal next to it (indicating new posts) you will see the list of threads in that section. The ones with "New!" next to them indicate which threads within the section have the new posts.

* It's better to post than not to post: If you're not sure, post. We can always delete your posts later if they are insignificant but at least by posting we know you're reading it.

* Try to avoid spamming. Make sure you've read the whole thread before replying, etc.. Often people's posts refer to things already mentioned which may answer your question. Also, if you are about to post a new thread, check there are no existing ones which might be suitable.
